How to teach it

Start with the four actions and the two-gem threshold. Then show how matching-color bonuses reduce future costs and how nobles reward a broad engine. Keep the 10-token hand limit and the end-of-round trigger visible as reminders.

Your first game

Buy inexpensive cards across several colors early, then use their discounts to reach higher-level cards and noble requirements. Keep an eye on opponents’ bonus sets: a noble can disappear at the end of their turn. Reserve a valuable card when you can afford to deny it safely, but remember that a reserve occupies one of only three spaces.
