Gem tokens of each color: 4
Noble tiles: 3

The table

Sort development cards by level, shuffle each deck, and place them face down in three columns. Reveal four cards from each level.
Place five gold tokens beside the card display.
Put gem tokens in separate supplies. Use the amount shown for your player count; return extras to the box.
Shuffle the noble tiles and reveal the amount shown for your player count.

Before play

The youngest player takes the First Player marker.
No one starts with cards or tokens. Put the three decks, gem supplies, five gold, and revealed nobles within reach of everyone.
