Strongholds
Strongholds let you control access to visible development cards and can make a card purchasable after your action.
Setup
Each player takes three strongholds. Keep the regular card market and actions.
Place, move, or remove
After buying a card from your hand or the table, and before replacing it, choose one: place or move one of your strongholds onto a face-up card without an opponent’s marker, or remove an opponent’s stronghold from a card with exactly one of theirs. If you buy or reserve a card with your own markers, take those markers back. A card with one or more strongholds can be bought or reserved only by their owner.
Three strongholds on one card
If all three of your strongholds occupy the same face-up card, you may buy that card after resolving your normal action. Pay its remaining cost normally. Resolve this extra purchase before the end-of-turn token limit and noble or city check; tokens you took and the card you acquired during your turn can pay for it. Strongholds do not block blind draws from decks.
